Company retreats, and company events, sound awesome until (1) you realize that the main theme is the company and (2) that the open-bar only serves beer and wine. I once apologized to my friend's boyfriend at the holiday party for having to be surrounded by consultants he didn't know. His response: 'Well, at least I don't work with them...' OUCH.
